FTP Site

Hello members,

 

I tried to use the cadcam's FTP site.

I wanted to look at the present files.

I received an error message.

The message stated make sure I have permission to

access the folder. The FTPsession was terminated.

Any help would be appreciated.

machineshopt,are you using Intranet Explorer or say Mozilia for a browser.

 

I would try downloading FileZila it works well.

The tool for browsing through web pages is called Internet (web) browser ,browser in pc slang .

Now if you have Windows XP and put service pack2

you can have problems with FTP and Internet explorer (browser ),this was covered recently ,make a search on forum .

All the ftp problems were covered good too ,make a search and have a look .

Hello Members,

 

I am using mircosoft internet explorer,

and running windows xp professional.

I am presently running service pack 1.

 

The school has network security

and network virus protection.

 

I searched the files for FTP problems as suggested by Winnie Teh Pooh and only received my post questions and replies.

 

I went to the ftp site again and received the same

message.

Sir try downloading Filzila a FTP client software,and give this a try.

 

Did you talk to the school about the network security allowing you to go to FTP sites?

I will try to locate the Filzila software and download it.

Maybe it will resolve the problem.

 

I was able to access the ftp site, before the school updated the computer I use to xp professional.

 

I will contact the network department for the college tomorrow.

 

I will ask why, when I had windows 98 I was able to access the ftp site and since xp professional was loaded I am unable to open the site.

It does not matter what you use if port 21 is closed by firewall (security ) you will not be able to use it .

Xp has a inner firewall ,so ask your IT guy to check it (external firewall and Internal(xp) or both )

FileZilla Site Manager file containg Jay's FTP site

IE FTP fix (can apply to non-WinXP SP2 systems, too)

 

But like Pooh mentioned, if port 21 is blocked, none of this matters.
