i have a problem with V8 working on my laptop, someone please help

i have version 8.1.1 and i put it on a brand new hp laptop, but now im havning problems with the software lagging and making my comp. freeze up, nothin is wrong with the laptop itself, but is there any patches or newer revisions to let mastercam 8.1.1 run on my laptop? the stats on my laptop are this- 1 gig ram, 120 gig harddrive, 1.6 ghz proceser speed, runnin on xp,

Well, this is an instructors forum.

 

This is a general Mastercam question that belongs in the main forum, so if you are not an instructor this question belongs there.

 

My initial guess without more info though would be it is likely a video card issue.

I've seen that behavor with ATI-based video hardware in notebooks. There isn't anything you can do about it, unfortunatly, becasue with very few exceptions you cannot change the video hardware in a notebook.

 

NVIDIA cards work best, and the latest Intel intergrated graphics (9xx/Centrino chipsets) seem to work well too. The older Intel boards didn't work well, but were still much better than ATI cards.

Try taking the Hardware acclaration down really low and try.

need to download the xp hasp driver from the mc support page for version 8.

Jimmy sounds as if it is running just does not stay running.As the drivers you speak of get it going in XP SP2 do to windows bonning all us..
