Subprogram question

I have a simple grid pattern of holes to spot, drill & tap, using the fadal2 pst "generic"from V8.

I checked on the subprogram options for all three operations parameters. But after posting ,I get 3 seperate subprograms numbers for the same grid pattern. Is there something in my post that needs tweeking ? OR am I missing a step in defining the same grid of holes to subprogram.

When you select the points for your second and third op's, pick Toolpath/Drill/Subprgm ops/ and select the first op. Also click on 'Enable subprograms in selected operations' at this stage, even if the first op was already set to subprogram in the drilling params.

If that doesn' do the trick, download the latest version of MP from the Patches page on this site.

Then at the operation manager i find a new copy of (op3 tap operation) has been created that need a regen "dirty".

& that operations geometry icon says (3) drill operation instaed of points

Step by step on how to coming up!

Again Thanks Dave

Kenny.

sub program step by step mini tutorial

tools

op 1 # 2 spot drill

op 2 # 7 jobber drill / depth -.5

op 3 # 1/2 RH bottoming tap / depth -.45

Create a grid of drill point 5 x 5 spaced 1" apart in the x & y

create op1 tool path "Drill" , select grid of drill point, & set your parameters#2 sopt drill depth ,speed feed ,ect.

create Op2 ToolPath/Drill/subprogram ops/ {"Drill operations dialog box appears,There you will see Op 1 folder." )

Click on the Op 1 folder " blue check mark"

Then click on the check box were it says " Enable subprograms in selected Operation." (op2 tool path parameter screen appears)

select your tool #7 drill & set the parameters depth, speed & feeds ,ect . When done click ok ."(you will return to the graphics screen & see the drill tool path you've just created for op 2)

Now open the operation manager___ Main Menu/toolpath/operation

There you will see the operation folders for Op1 an Op2. Operation 2 will show that it needs a regenration marked by a red X.

Select Op2 folder " blue check mark" Notice the parameter icons for op 1&2 shows 2 rectangled lines inner & outer that means subprograms are

turned on in that operation. & look at op2 geometry icon , it should read next to it "(1) drill operations "

Now click Regen_path.The operation dialog box dissapears for a moment & returns back on the screen when regen_path is complete.

create Op 3 To create op3 follow the same process as creating op 2 & so on.

when posted all three ops will have the same subprograms numbers
