detect flats feature

Has anyone tried using the "detect flats" feature on any multi-surface toolpath and got a dialog box up saying: Too many flats to detect? Well I have, and the part I was cutting had alot of detailed features and alot of surfaces, but as far as flat levels, there is alot of surface area but, there was only about 7-10 different depth levels. I have sent this file to my reseller to see if he knows anything. I thought I would throw it up here as well. Any input would be great. Thanks.

What are your memory settings on configuration ?

my current ram allocation is set at 149.9mb

Whats funny is that when you do a Rough surface pocket with your file that comes up.

But it does find them and put them in the list.

 

Is this what you have found to?

yeah, I noticed that. There really isn't that many different flat levels either.

It does work at least.

I rruffed your part with a .625 flat and it looked nice.

I'll do it. I sent it to my reseller last week, but I haven't heard anything from him. Like you said, I got the part cut and it looks good, but I was interested in why it reacts that way on just that part.
