The shop I work at recently had a small mill project that would have taken me 10 minutes to draw and program in mastercam. They digitized the broken part (small punch section with two gusset forms) and proceeded to program point to point on a fadal vmc15. Took them 2 days.

If they would only open their eyes productivity on the mills would increase 10 fold. *end of rant*

I miss y'all BTW. Jay, Chris, Scott, Dave and the entire core.

Dont feel bad Jayman

Iv been at shops that refuse to use any cadcam at all......cause of there manual

programming pride & are just plain computer scared !

Iv also have been told to my face ( this shop will never go cadcam programming)

I watched these clowns program at the control for 3 & 4 hours on stupid simple

parts that can be done on cadcam in less than 20 minutes...scraping parts out

big time as setup pieses.Busting tools left & right !

They are clueless to the art of feeds & speeds. Eccesive tool hangs for the

work being done. The list goes on !!!

I just shake my head & smile & watch the comic cartoon show.

No matter what you say to them there still stuck on stupid !

Hi Jamman

Hi all

We have one manual programming type ego where I work now,I here all the time how fast he can hand type the code into the machine. If I could get half of his ego ,and he could get half of my god given talent to make these partsd --we would make an awsunm team. ----But there is hope, My boss is in Jay's MC class right now-and he seams to enloy it.

I see them -draw the part in MC draft, record the points and then print it out. Then go to the machine and type it in by hand- constantly back ploting as they go..

I want to help them, but I have to wait for them to get stuck.
