multiple pocketing with Agievision + Wire v.9sp2

Hi,

This is the first time for me, hope the forum could help me to solve this problem:

I want to cut multiple pockets with Wire v9sp2 form mastercam; although I select each pocket chain and stcw the post for my AGIE Challenge (Agievision) outputs a program not suitable to the machine. When I load the program the machine says something like 'corrupt program', 'program not suitable' etc. The 'verify' option shows a correct wire path but agie cut only the first pocket (If I'm lucky). Could you suggest the right procedure to select and cut multiple pockets?

Thanks

trwire

We use an Ona Prima but I'll give a shot at helping. smile.gif

You have then work origin, start pos. and thread and cut pos. right for the first cut? Then the next cut should have the thread pos. the previous cut pos. and so on for the next operation.

Do you have the power library correct? Ona has probably different Conditions and Technology codes but I did have to modify them a bit from the default MC settings.

Does the posted code even look correct? I had some problems with the lead-in lead-out at first.

We cut mainly carbide, 4-axis, 0.006" brass wire. What are you cutting? Just curious... smile.gif

Can you upload your MC and NC file to CadCam's FTP?

Hi Brent,

Agie programs seems something more like C++ than NC - That is another reason we can't figure out what's wrong. We are in big trouble because edm wire cut is for us like breathing air - that is if you can't breath air you can't live isn't it?

Hope you and the forum could help us -

Thank you

Hi Trwire.

Welcome to the forum.

I am not familiar with Agievision Control as i use a Charmilles. But seeing how they are both owned by the same I can tell you your best source is Agie tech support .Zip up an iges, make the call and send em the file .They will be able to tell you what is wrong with your output if any and then you can correct it in MAstercam if that is where the problem is. Sorry i could not help better but i know Agie has the support to get you up and cutting.

Regards'.

HI Twire -

There are 2 new post questions to support this in Wire version 9.1. Agie needs a small perpendicular move to start No-core cuts. HEre are the questions:

4003. Force perpendicular lead in/out on no-core rough pass? y

4004. Percentage of wire diameter to be used in perpendicular lead in/out move? 10.0
