Hello all, I am a total newbie. Our new Flexicam Stealth router is being setup and we may start in-house training tomorrow. Are there many router users here? I am sure to be looking for help. Thanks,

I program for 3 and 5 axis routers all the time. Granted, they are Thermwoods but they are still routers.

There are quite a few guys here that use routers so I am sure you can get any help you will need.

Good to meet you, I probably should have used olddog instead of oldguy since I am trying to learn new tricks. At least I worked in a shop with a Komo router. That made me "the expert" here. LOL

We have 2 CNC Routers, a custom 2 head behemoth Flat Table and a Biesse Combo Flat Table/Pod & Rail Router. We program them with Mastercam, Cabinetvision and Biesseworks. I've only heard of the Flexicam, but hopefully someone here can be of assistance to you. Welcome.

Thanks everyone for the welcome. The Flexicam is a 3 axis router. We have about 15" z clearance under the gantry and a 61"x121" machining area. We cut practise parts today. Full day of training tomorrow.

We have a 5 axis Anderson Router. We do a lot of different custom stuff on our 5 axis. About half of the time it is used as a 3 axis and the rest we cut out handrails and fittings for stairs.

 

What kind of stuff do you plan to run on your Flexcam?

Hi Greg, We are the model/prototype shop for our engeneering co. Could be almost ahything, acrylic, aluminum,wood. We are looking for accuracy and repeatability.

Welcome to the forums! I program for 14 Thermwood routers. Granted its plastic not wood, Also, I should mention I am still dogging it with V9.1 but with plans to upgrade to X3 as soon as it becomes available to me. Still, this forum is a great resource.

Thanks Nathann, rough day today.Last half day of in house trainig and the computer with mastercam and inventor goes down again.The IT guy "fixed"it yesterday, it worked thru this am, had to take it back for a complete reformat and reinstall this afternoon. Maybe get it back Tue. Luckily the Flexicam guy had two laptops with him and kept us running the machine on his programs. I think it can only get better from here.

Welcome onboard. We program for a bunch of large 3 & 5 axis Cincinatti routers where we cut composite plastic panels out at a little aerospace firm in the Seattle area.

We too have one 5-axis Quintax router. It's the newest one on the shop floor and hopefull the first one we get rid of when the time comes to replace machines. I hope yours works better than ours. When it runs it's awesome. Unfortunately it spends a lot of time being fixed usually with an axis allignment problem.
