  1. That's odd, I'm having the exact same problem!
  2. Sometimes I just want to remove a pass or two at the end of the program. But it might take you 20 minutes to get to that pass just to delete it. I don't get it. Seems like a good feature but I thought maybe I was missing something. Thanks CNC
  3. I was trying to edit a toolpath that had a couple funky moves. So I right clicked the op in the operation manager and selected toolpath editor. I may be missing something, but if you toggle through the pass or cut to get to the unwanted pass it takes forever. The little blue line slowly moves around the cut until you get to the next pass. Am I doing something wrong or is it really that slow to use. I adjusted my contaimnet boarder to correct the problem, but was wondering if people use it and am I doing something wrong.
  4. Maybe your reseller might know of a good programmer that is available. Good luck
  5. Don't laugh but we are using a Quadro NVS 280 and it is a real piece of poo. We have Alt W set up custom so I don't have to goto drop down Screen/Shade Setting and click the Translucent box.
  6. Yup, Translucency crashed it also.
  7. Only for you would I knowingly crash my computer while I'm working!!!!! I followed your instructions to a "T" and sure enough as soon as I hit Alt S she crashed and burned. Which is wierd because I always unshade or use Alt W Shading Translucency Toggle to see my chains. I'm going to try it again only this time I will try Alt W instead of Alt S and see if it still fails.
  8. I don't do much with lead in/out since we cut mostly composites. But the other day I was trying to use it with a surface HST and I tried to draw a line off of my containment boundary and select that as my reference for lead in. But it didn't work. Will it show up in backplot? Should I be placing a point and choose that for my lead in position instead?
  9. He's just frustrated trying to work out a problem. Mac's are superior to PC's and I wish I was using one right now! Our PC is POS!!!!!!!!!
  10. Civic Dude, I used to work for WMH Tool Group, which purchased Powermatic, and is now located in La Vergne. Used to work with a nice guy from Murfreesboro. Nice area down there in the South. Hot and sticky in the summer!
  11. JP - I would prefer to get a new computer with the latest Vista OS, but using dell refurbished you have to take the best package. Right now the best 64 bit computer they have available is the XP64. And we need to order the computer before the end of the year. So we will see what is available. The Vista64 computers available have lesser video cards and processors. We can always upgrade to Vista64 later.
  12. Thanks for the info gcode, we have been getting by with this computer for sometime. Can't wait to get the new one. I would prefer to make the jump to Vista 64 bit, but there aren't a whole lot of 64 bit refurbished workstations out there that have the right config. We will have to see what is out there tomorrow when we are ready to place the order.
  13. gcode - That's interesting, we are going to buy a new computer (dell refurbished) for MC tomorrow. I was looking at a 64 bit XP pro unit but should look at the vista instead. Here is what I'm looking at. Question - will I need a new version of office to go with the 64 - Bit? Any other things I need to think about while switching to 64 - Bit? Thanks! 14. I've been upset (in the past) about how long it takes to process blend toolpaths. But now with X3 MU1 they are very quickly generated! Congratulations to MC for making a big improvement! Everything seems faster.
  15. Thanks, Tom What is the A and E setting? Is that controlled from my post or when I set up my program in MC?
  16. We don't really cut panels too often. We maybe cut a 100 panels a month or every couple of months. Next time we cut panels we will run some tests. Mostly cut fiberglass.
  17. We have a Quintax 5-axis with ***or controller.
  18. I don't think the material is moving in this case. I'm not familiar with servo tuning. How is this done and how do you know if the servo needs tuned. We are leaning towards the y axis.
  19. I'm not sure I'm not at the office. From the problems I had and other people you need to have all tabs checked in the settings section of tabs. Play around with it and let us know if it fixes your problem. Seems to me you have to check all tabs whether you are using manual or automatic tabs.
  20. when you check the tabs box and click on the settings box do you have all tabs checked?
  21. You bet, I'm glad I could help!
  22. You need to go into the tabs screen and click on settings and check box all tabs. It seems to me it used to be defaulted. This should take care of it. I had the same problem and got it to work.
  23. I have never liked using splines unless your trying to create a loft or sweep. Our machine also slows down to a crawl sometimes on curved parts. Redrawing the geometry is probably a good idea right off the bat to save time later. The simplify command does not always convert splines to curves and arcs which is frustraring. I always liked the explode command in AutoCAD.
  24. 6.961 is tool and holder. Using two flute Onsrud carbided cutter. 1" MDO plywood and cut 2) 1/2" deep passes We run the RPM's around 16000 with a feed rate set at about 50% When you receive drawings from a customer do you ever convert the geometry to a uniform geometry type such as spline, arc, line, etc?
