Problem importing Parasolid X5

Hello Guys,

 

I am having issues importing solids from other systems. Its not a huge porblem but still a bug, I think. What happens is when you import a file the solids dont maintain their color attributes. For instance if you have color 9 as your system color in mastercam X5 all solids come in that color and you can not make a color change until you clear all face and feature colors in solids tree, then you can change the colors to what you wish. In X4 there was no problem, it would come in the same color I made them in solidworks. Any suggestions would be great. Thank you.

clear all solid color feature, after this you wll be able to set any color you want to solid face

Is there a way to select more than one solid at a time? ie the whole mold at once. The molds I bring in via x_t files have many solids.

Yes just select all of the solids in the solid manager and clear all.

 

Select the first solid, hold control, select the last solid.

im having the same problems but with bringing in surfaces and wireframe. USing X5 also. its getting quite frustrating when the engineering changes are one color and the originals are a different. when you bring the parasolid in it changes them to one color

Temp solution? Try importing it as Surfaces to get your colors, then merge the solid file and change the faces you wish to correct.
