Is it X5 or my Computer that dies when trying to verify with STL files?

Man, Lately with X5 when I do a lot of surfacing and try to save the verified file as an STL, X5 bombs. "Fatal error, try running at a different resolution, if it persists, contact CNC software" I just don't have time to keep playing with resolution. Now, when I can successfully save my verify as an STL(when the file doesn't have alot of surfacing) X5 will bomb when I try to open verify with said STL file. I'm wondering if my computer is underpowered for this? Is anybody else having STL problems?

you should try the the new machsim stuff for verification. not the actual machine simulation, but the backplot or verify option. it is much quicker than the standard verify.

Those specs aren't bad at all.

What video card are you using? That might be the problem.

Not sure of the specs, but it's an ATI

I get the same error when I am doing multiple steps in verify using STLs. My reseller advised changing the tolerance on the tool. They said I wouldn't get the nicest looking verified part from it but I would be able to see any gouge marks that may occur.....and I have plenty of PC power and graphics card (non ATI) capabilities. Kind of frustrating.
