I will program something on one machine and then we have to run it on another machine. The operator at that point will replace the machine def with the right machine. My question is when that is done shouldn't the new machine def replace all the D values for the tools. I have one machine that the D values are the same as the tool number but the other machine you have to add 30. When we switch Machine def we have to open every operation and select each tool to force the new D value.

Hi James,

If your tools are numbered sequentially you can always use the following, select all operations then right click on one of them and choose edit selected operation\renumber tool. There you can add the desired value to your lenght or your diameter offset.

I also changed all of my posts to handle the offset numbers like everyone says, plus different tool change cycles, tap cycles and high speed machining if possible. Then I use a VB script to post to all machines at once on every program I make, that way it will work on any of our machines.
