Auto cursor with angular dimension

I am trying to create an angular dimension. When I try and select two non parallel lines, the auto cursor wants to select points. Which makes it impossible to get a correct angular dimension. I know I can just turn off auto cursor, but constantly doing that is non-productive. I searched and found that you can temporarily turn off auto cursor with control key. When I do that, the lines cannot be selected. So, I am confused how this hot key for auto cursor works. Can someone enlighten me?

Thanks

I normally run with Arc Center, Endpoint and Point set in my Auto Cursor

Everything else is off.

I just tried dimensioning 2 angular lines

Both Smart Dimension and the Angular Dimension drop down worked correctly

and selected the lines with no problem.

Make sure you have "Allow PreSelection" turned on.

Its on the Screen menu in System Config

So how does this hot key for auto cursor work? If I press and hold the control key, shouldn't it allow me to select two lines? That doesn't work.:(

I'm not doing anything.. no hot key

I drew two lines , clicked on Smart Dimension,

selected line 1 and length dimension for that line appears

then I select line 2 and the angular dimension between then pops up

note; the angluar autocursor is to draw angular lines.. not dimension them..

I don't think I've ever used that one

edit...

make sure you don't have multiple lines

If you have 2 lines on 2 different Z levels and you're in Top plane/Top View,

Mastercam does not know which of the 2 lines you want... so it does nothing

I adjusted my autocursor settings and can get it to work as you described. But I still dont understand how the hot key works?

But I still dont understand how the hot key works?

Hot keys are an attempt to replicate the old V9

hot kets. In some cases they work.. and sometimes they don't

In theory they are the same as V9

0 = origin

M = midpoint

C = center of arc

etc etc

I read that there was a hot key to temporarily turn off auto cursor by hold down the Control key. Apparently that doesn't work right, at least it didn't work for me.
