Peel/Dynamic mill 303

Well, been using peel mill for a while now but had the chance to run some 303 stainless with the dynamic mill toolpath as well.

Setup was on the 4th axis with a tailstock and 1.5mm wall sections so not too rigid but it worked a treat.

Speed 5000

Feed F3000

Backfeed F10000

No microlift as the false brinelling thread a while ago has frightened me to death of using this feature

DOC 12mm

Stepover 1mm

Tool YG Variflute 4x flute carbide

Tool life worked out at 10 components per = just over 2x hrs of cutting.

Cheers CNC :D

The micolift was not the issue. The issue was a slot that was very close the the OD of the endmill, IIRC, the Y-axis was only moving .007 for a 30" long slot and they made many parts. Sure, the microlift will be small, but it won't oscilate back and forth like the peel cycle moves.

Hmmm that interesting to think about...micro lift is essentially oscillating the Z axis.

It sure as, but think about it: Do you think it's going to be the same about as the slot from the prior post? Unless you are cutting such a small area that the z is coming up all the time, I don't see it as an issue.
