5X curve really isn't the right toolpath for that cut IMO

I did an advance 5X swarf that looks pretty sweet.

It looks like the rough cuts are gouging one of the corners a little

( or there's something wrong with my swarf)

Its running OK in verify as far as I can see

out of lunch hour so that will have to do..

I attached my file to this post

edit... I turned "use cutter comp in control on" in Verify.. and the results were very ugly

with the 5X curve toolpath.. both toolpaths run OK in Verify with it off

Try running thru MachSim and look at it. Regular verify will, most times, be wrong in 5 axis.

Changing ccomp from Wear to Computer did it. Thanks.

Mr. Wizzard: I'm trying to figure out MachSim and keep running into problems and error messages like this: tleh0.png

It looks good in Verify but I really want to get MachSim going.

GCode, the .zip file is corrupt somehow. I only get a 196k file and not 430k or so. Could you re-up or email to [email protected]? Thanks!

In X5, the ability to apply cutter compensation in Verify was added to 5 axis toolpaths. It is triggered by a combination of the compensation type in the toolpath and the Verify Options / Cutter comp setting.

In looking at this part, yes, you get two different results with and without compensation:

In this case, to get the desired results (not showing cutter compensation), disable the compensation using the Verify Options dialog:

When using compensation and 5 axis toolpaths, the "Tool Radius" edit box is enabled and allows you to specify the offset distance.
