haas question

I have a VF-2 Haas and wondering if there was a way to open the umbrella tool changer and keep it open and change tools and blow out chips. My Fadal I just type TC,1 and then it opens the tool changer and then I hit the button thats says cw or ccw. Thanks in advance

when i wanna clean mine out, i remove all tools, hit ATC and when the carousel opens and slides under the spindle, I just hit the E-Stop. Then I hose it out with the coolant hose and blow it out.

Then, just pop out the E-Stop, go into "recovery" mode and follow the prompts on the screen.

Done.

Thats a good work around. I am just surprised they dont have this built in. Thanks for you suggestion

Yeah, it's a pain but it's the only way I've figured out how to do it. Depending on your machining, you can get a ton of chips thrown up in there. Just watch they don't pile up on your toolholders while you're running.

also you dont have to go into recovery mode to get it to slide back go to zero return and hit zero single axis and it will slide back
