I like the CIMCO editor that comes with V8, but what I find annoying is when you hit the ESC key it puts a "" in the file. For example if you search for G43 and after searching to it you close the search window by hitting ESC a couple of times it replaces G43 with ""

The Editor also needs to keep a list of previous files.

This is what Cimco, the developers have to say.

No, you can not disable the escape key in the current version, but I have changed the behaviour of the escape key so it no longer inserts a character 27 (ESCAPE). This "fix" is included in the next service release (4.10.17). We expect to release 4.10.17 within a week.

I quess Ascii character 27 is common to those German controls.
