Mastercam Lathe

We are just thinking of investing in 2 seats of lathe. We have 5 seats of mill X5 so we are familiar with mcam.

Have downloaded the mplmaster post. Our lathe has its turret at the front and I would like to program mastercam the same way.

That means that when you program a conture it is drawn in the lower left segment, but the post must output Diameters as positive.

Is this possible with a post edit, or machine def.

In the V9 and earlier posts it was done here:

 

dia_mult : -2 #Multiplier for output on X axis (Neg. switches sign of X)

To program using a turret at the front of your machine what you will need to do is select the axis combination button as shown in the graphic below and choose Left or Right Lower depending upon where the turret is.

 

Then you will have to pick your tool, right click and choose edit tool. Then select Setup Tool, choose bottom turret and possible reverse tool. You can always choose OK and pick draw tool for Mastercam to show you how the tool is orientated.

Thank you so much, guys. I've spent way too much time trying to fix this.

I knew it had something to do with simple orientation, by I sure as heck couldn't find it.

Actually can't wait to get to work tomorrow & try it / use it.
