Stage Tool and Manual Entry

Anyone using staged tooling and manual entry at the same time? The toolpath before the manual entry does not stage the correct tool.

Is there a work around for this....Is it even possible???

If your manual entry is a complete toolpath, it can't read it, the tool number while it exists in your program doesn't exist in you tools used database.

None that I'm aware of unless you made a dummy op and but that would create other issues.

 

I'm not going to say there's "no" way to read it out of there but if there is, it is going to be deep, convoluted and not easy to accomplish.

If next op = manual entry & mi6 <> 0

 

next tool # = mi6

 

Then you put the tool # you want staged in the misc integer you choose... it's an extra step putting the tool # into the misc integer... but maybe better than hand editing...

I was just thinking about something like that but I think the logic involved would have to be a bit deeper because you'd have to actually save the next "real" set tool so that it could be used and it doesn't lose track of the staged tools because of the manual entry

we use a point tool path to call the tool then the manual tool path. That will put the tool info in the database.
