Mastercam Art

i like mastercam, but.

I bought art hoping for a progam that would convert a .jpg/etc. to vector for programming . boy was that a mistake. the conversion program in art sucks

 

some of the shareware progs off the net do a better job.

im kinda disappointed in mastercam for this lame addon.

anybody else?

I dont own art but have the r2v.dll.

 

You must be sure you create the JPEG with a very high resolution to get best results.

 

If the JPEG was already created with a low dpi, then it will never be good.

It depends

Comparing r2v ,Corel trace and wintopo

I got different results depending on quality ,contrast and algorithms I used on images

I almost every time needed to close some contours but I was OK

It's been hit or miss with me. Some work awesome, some not. It takes many trial and error on the settings and sometimes it still wont' work if your file suks. Can you post our pic and i'll give it a shot?

 

I just did some awesome boxes for my kids for Christmas using art to engrave them. My reseller helped me out and we were able to get things to work out pretty sweet! I'll post pics when i can....
