tool numbers changing

I know this has been discussed a few times but I never seen a fix for the problem. I'm stuck using X4 cause my place of employement is to cheap to put me back on maintenance. I figured out that I did'nt start having a problem with this until I started using the highspeed toolpaths. I like them and would like to continue to use them but for now I've quit using them because of the tools changing. It's extremely aggravating to say the least. Is there anyway to get this problem fixed without being on maintenance. From what I've seen on here people are still having this problem with some of the newer versions anyway. It would be nice if mastercam would fix the problems they have without you having to be on maintenance. I mean, if I buy something at walmart and there's something wrong with it I get to take it back and get somethingelse. I don't have to wait for a newer version to come out and buy that one to see if the problem got fixed. Just sayin......

If you go back into the operation and re-select the tool....does that help?

I think he doesn't want to have to do that. Unfortunately, there is no work around that I can see.

Your stuck with it the way it is I am afraid.

Just double check your tools, and bang your head against a wall when it screws you over.

I'm not sure what it's doing but I think It's renumbering/changing to a differn't tool. It changes some of the previous ops tools. I did notice that when it comes up with the window after making a program with options to change the tools or cancel tool changes that if I choose cancel tool changes that it doesn't change the previous ops tools anymore and I just have to reselect the tool for the op I'm on. I don't have any of these problems when not using the high speed stuff.

Tim Pruett,

In a perfect world that would be done. There are a lot of basic functions that get overlooked when they are on a continuous development schedule as they have been since the release of X. The underlying philosophy is "don't fix what isn't broken". That's true of many things but another truth is outdated functionality should be considered broken. If it works but could be much better than it needs improving. That's what I would say to Mastercam if they asked. Improve what needs to be better before developing something new. Then when you have developed new things, iron them out completely so the integration is seemless and everyone's happy. JMHO :D
