Data Server FTP Questions

I am stumped. I can transfer fine with the READ,FGET,PSET method except for large programs. They need to be dumped on the 1G memory card from the pc then place card back in controller(sucks). But I'm not sure I totally get the purpose of FTP software on the pc when transferring programs through the Ethernet. Is the file actually being ran from the PC when you GET? or are they being dumped in the controller memory?

you running filezilla server edition on your PC? I'm just starting working with a Mori mapps/ 16i.
