output N# = Tool #

I don't use sequence numbers and want to output N# = Tool #

(makes it easier to search without bumping into tool pre calls )

 

I think I would have to get rid of all the n$ in the post first - but then I get lost...If setup format of N

 

fmt T 4 t$ #Tool number

 

unless I use:

fmt N 4 n$ #Tool number

What post are you currently using? SOme posts are already set up to do that, it;s just a switch.

You don't have to get rid of all the n$ 's in the post, just shut them off.

you can turn off the N output in the control definition and then in the post force output of sequence number (*n$) on the line where you want it to output. Ofcourse you need to setup some logic to assign the current tool number into the sequence number variable (ie n$ = t$) and you need to account for if you repeat the tool numbers how do you want them coming out, etc. Easy enough to do once you lay it all out.
