I have a an angle plate to machine and want to use a right angle head and G18 to machine some details on the end . My part is to long to stand up and I have close tolerances so I don't want to move it. can anyone help

Maybe you can go in your post and swap the axis outputs in the format statements.

 

Then use the WCS to machine the end??

 

Since your not on a 5 Axis post.

 

Just some crazy ideas that came to mind....

It is too long for the head and tools to clear?

If so, well...Horizontal comes to mind

If not stand it up and brace it with whatever means ness. take the time on the set-up to ensure your tol. is met it will probably be more accurate then a right angle head and you can be sure your code is correct without crazy filtering and such.

If it was a one shot deal, I would program in X and Y (as if the part were rotated into the mastercam top view). Post the code and manually edit the program to add the G18 and alter the initial aproach moves.

How about progrmming in the front or side view with the tool plan.

then out put the NCI file and use EditNCI C-hook to change the plans and post.

 

this one way I have done. in the past.

Router has a C-hook that will do this for you.

 

C-hook is AGGREGAT.DLL
