  1. Thanks guys, sorry for buggin everyone here. I realize it is a users forum and shouldn't expect that kind of info from here. Can't hurt to try though. My company is on the verge of ordering Partmaker and I am just trying to make sure it is the right move. I would be kicking myself reallly hard for adding another system when Mastercam comes out with it in the next year. But I just can't tell the president to Hang in there anymore. so I will contact CNC in a last ditch effort before we order.
  2. Funny, How can topic called X sucks get 100+ replies. And a Topic actually asking for information that is very important to a company get 2. Contacted Reseller... ..."I will ask about it." They say. A week goes by with no word from them at all. What's the big secret? Am I asking for too much?
  3. BUMP- anging in there... ... Not teh going away though.
  4. I must be the oddball--- I have a Quadro FX1300- I did as suggested above but still have the flickering. It is less flickering then before but it has not cleared up. I could not roll back my driver. I jumped a few versions the last time I updated and now it really messes with stuff when I go back. G-code could you please point me to a download of the driver you are using. Thanks!
  5. BUMP- Any news from the guys upstairs at all? We currently have 5 swiss machines a Mori MT and a Nak. WT, hopefully with at least one more on the way soon. Our company has pretty much decided that we are going to focus on multi-tasking machines after getting some guys that really make them sing. So as programmers we need Mastercam POWER with a little less editing, or assembly of the programs. We put some very complex parts through these machines. Throw a bone pleeeeease.
  6. Our company is taking a serious look at partmaker. We have been holding back with whispers of MATSS here and there. I have heard some say it is a working module already and that X has taken precedence over releasing it. So now that X is out, and all taken care of... old news... done deal... ... Can I humbly ask about MATSS? We would love to program our multi-tasking and Swiss machines with the same system as we use for conventional machines. We currently use Master cam to create all the code. Make two programs and paste them together inserting timing codes and the whole bit. After a very impressive Demo by the partmaker boys we are forced to consider it. They now handle all sync codes and have started surfacing as well. With full machine verification. It definitely is limited when comparing toolpaths to Mastercam. So I asks. Anybody have news on MATSS?
  7. Nothing yet... ... Nothing yet... ... Is it, is it... ... Nope, Nothing yet.
  8. I.C.O.N. is patiently waiting... ... ... ... ... ... IS IT HERE YET!
  9. I have the FX 1300 is awsome. I run out of memory a lot but usualy becuase I have two to three apps of macam running with the allocations taking up over 500mb a piece. also a dell 370 3.4G but not a 64 bit system... ... but I don't think you will have any troubles. I am using the latest drivers and there are a few bugs with the Nview dual monitors but other then that it is fast. I use .00005 res a lot. even on larger files. I have all my apps setup to do different things on the two monitors and sometimes it gets confused.
  10. Played with it a little. I found it very powerfull but yet restrictive. 3 holes:I had a spot, tap drill, tap, and a predrill for a bore and bore. It did a nice job and getting the planes right but I had trouble getting all the depths and sequences I wanted. Ended up have solid drill output seperate operations which I edited as needed. I would also like to hear more about this tool! I searched the forum about a month or so ago and found a little on it but not a lot.
  11. "No" Is the answere I expected. It was left open ended though. Of course there is no date attached to the "Introducing". Can we expect a date anytime soon? Has the question been asked enough times to enough resellers yet?
  12. I.C.O.N. emerges from the shadows to say thanks. Got some solidworks files that wildfire wouldn't open and these links were the ticket.
  13. If the pc never starts sending the file again it may have timed out. check time out settings and up them if needed. I don't see any other options that are linked to the timing of the file.
  14. I am using v1.1(what do you mean DOS?) so this may be old but it should still be applicable. line pacing specifies the delay (in tenths of a second) between sending each line.(a buffer) I think another posibility is pace character unlike character pacing, which is line pacing broken down to characters. pace character is used to ensure that the remote computer has recieved each line of data before the next line is sent. you may need a combination of the two to give your machine time to think cut and repeat. Good luck!
  15. have you tried character or line pacing? your baud rate my be correct but if the machine is still cutting it may not be ready to process next line. [ 08-19-2003, 03:50 PM: Message edited by: I.C.O.N. ]
  16. what version of procomm are you using? [ 08-19-2003, 03:16 PM: Message edited by: I.C.O.N. ]
  17. Yup, ISO does not care if you are a producer of poo. All they care is that the poo is consistant and oh ya, a document to say how you make the poo consistant.
  18. It is too long for the head and tools to clear? If so, well...Horizontal comes to mind If not stand it up and brace it with whatever means ness. take the time on the set-up to ensure your tol. is met it will probably be more accurate then a right angle head and you can be sure your code is correct without crazy filtering and such.
  19. That's the stuff I hang around here for! Thanks for solving a problem I will not have to expierence.
  20. quote: Roughing: 1/2 Dia end mill, 25,000 RPM, 400 ipm, 0.05 to 0.15 DOC. Finishing: 30k to 42k RPM depending on cutter size, 150 to 350 ipm (depending on cutter dia. and length), stepover to suit desired finish That's what I call kickin up dust. YEE HAAA, let'r fly
  21. I took a class (MCV8) as part of a total course in the trade and by the end of it i new more than the teacher. this is not always the case at all. Some instrucors are very good at what they teach. I would also suggest meeting the instructor first.
  22. A quick note on the translater for Pro-E IT IS NOT WORTH IT. until you can bring the model tree in with the solid(want for V10) it is just as easy to bring in a .igs and create the solid off of surfaces.
  23. "if your control allows" If you do want the operator to adjust sizes make a circle toolpath to 1" and adjust the scale. ex:.25 scale gives you .25 hole. works really well on EDM but is a little tricky on mills
  24. Leagalize? If all drugs were that cheap there would be no more addicts. they would all OD in the first week or so, and then when our kids whitnessed all the carnage they would never try it right?(no)
