Rotated Entities Left Behind

I'm still using X4 and have noticed this issue for years now all the way back to V8 and through several different computers. Once I have separated and labeled my mold components to levels as well as the wireframe and surfaces accordingly. I Rotate the part to the top view for machining, old school. Every once in a while there are several entities that stay behind in the Rotated move. Ie: rotate, all, wireframe, 180. I thought this was due to the file not being saved and on previous versions i believe this to be the case. Now, the only cure i can find is to exit Mastercam completely, thereby forcing a complete save (if needed). Also it seems the save icon only saves the NCI file? If you have had this phenomenon happen to you please share your findings... hardware, software, settings, procedure...

I remember that too, but after X4 i stopped seeing that issue.

I also stopped rotating mould component and use a different wcs for each component

so and it saves me hours of time now especially on the complex ones.

saves even more time on engineering changes.

as for the issue at hand you may be stuck with it, unless you upgrade.

restarting MC clears the cache and solves alot of issues

especially on older versions.

Thank you. I could use a class just for WCS from a mold maker to learn how to identify each face properly and efficiently. As well as a new computer with windows 7 and then X6 will run. I find that the levels seem to be associated to the machine definition. The graphics will adjust, not change, adjust, when moving from one machine def to a previous one, again sometimes...Could be the same machine only a separate set of operations, ie bottom insert, top insert..?

Started this way back in V9 when WCS came out. better these days with the Mastercam X series handles bigger file better sense molds can get big.

I am not a full time mold maker any more put still program for a few local mold shops.

Absolutely, Jay. X is able to handle the larger files much better than before. So, you're saying trust the WCS. It is a lot to wrap my head around. All views being labled as top. Opens up a new can for datums as well, ie corners vs middle... It's easier to pick corners on the cad a lot harder to dial in a corner with an indicator. Thanks
