System Speed

Hi all!!

Been super busy here so I decided to invest in some software and hardware...I purchased VeriCut, thanks for all of you that helped with that decision, and a new pc. My issue is that i don't feel like my pc is spitting out code much faster than my 4 year old HP laptop was. My question for all you guru's is this. What can I do to use my resources more efficiently? can I allocate some resources specifically to Vericut and others to mastercam? Are there settings within MC and Vericut that will help me? PC specs are on my siggy. Thanks in advance!!

As far as I know, the only allocations available in Mastercam is for toolpath. Vericut allocations can be modified in the vericut.bat file, if needed.

 

As far as speed, with these 2 software programs, clock speed is king. Neither utilizes multi-core effectively, yet. I think that Vericut 7.2 starts to use more cores, but I have not been successful in getting it to run as of yet.

 

My box runs a single Xeon processor at 3.47Ghz.

also gettin a solid state drive will increase speed tremendously, i have a raid 0 config on my home setup and a ssd on my work and its night/day, but do your research because some ssds aren't that good
