Cutter Comp in a Mazak

So we inherited a few Mazak Variaxis 630-5X's and we cannot figure out how to use the the cutter comp commands in them.(G42,G43,G41) Do they read the commands? I would assume so. We got a bunch of programs in the controller's as well and it looks like whoever was doing the programming before never used them once. Any help?

Looks like they were using the Mazatrol side of the machine for controlling the cutter comp. When this happens there is no need to call a H or D, but G41 or G42 would still work. If not using the Mazatrol side of the machine for this control then you would need to look at the eia side of the machine and see about setting up your tool offsets. Contact your dealer and they should be able to assist in getting a post that will allow you to use them to their full abilites.

On the side note you should make sure that you have @ least Type B Tool Offset Data in order for Z length comp as well as dia. wear comp to work.
