X6 nethasp trouble .... and a solution

We let a programmer go in June and his machine has not been used since.

X^ ran fine the day he was let go.

About once a month I run Windows update, but never launched X6

This morning I thought I'd use it to crunch some long toolpaths.

I ran the MR2 update but X6 wouldn't launch.. "no sim found"

Nhasp.exe was set properly and X4 and X5 launched OK.

Uninstalled/reinstalled X6 ... nothing ..

Lastest greatest hasp drivers (9/21/12) nothing

 

did a registery search ... see attached screen shot

 

this is a shot of my workstation .. which runs properly

on the other workstation , "NetHASP mode" was set to local.... even though nhasp.exe was set correctly.

 

I changed it to "Network" ... like this sceen shot and the problem was solved...

 

I've seen this problem pop up on the forum a few times... maybe this will help somebody out
