Collet Chuck Suggestions

We just ordered a new machine and I am looking for suggestions on what collet chuck we should be looking at for it. We already talked with the sales man about this I and he suggested Royal or ATS. I am just looking for some alternitives to see if i can save the boss some money.

I vote for Royal Acculength

Work holding isn't a great thing to cheap out on for a new machine. For the lower cost route I would do the Royal Accu-length, they aren't as much as the ATS quick change but work great. The dead length style makes 2nd ops and transfers much easier.

If you have nothing invested in collets. (Eg 16c, 20c s26). I would recommend going the vulcanized quick change route. Collet chuck cost is about the same. The collets are way more expensive but they have a greater clamping range and they will save you a ton of headaches down the road. Ultra quick changeover too.

If you use oil in your machine don't go the vulcanized rubber route. The oil will destroy the rubber.
