  • Professional-level graphics card designed for CAD/CAM applications required, NVidia Quadro or AMD FirePro series recommended
  • Integrated graphics controllers are not supported
  • 1280 x 1024 pixel resolution (minimum)
  • Full hardware acceleration display setting is recommended

I have ACER ASPIRE 5738Z with configuration:

Intel Pentium processor T4300 ( 2.1 GHz, 800 MHz FSB)

Intel GMA 4500M

15.6'' HD LCD

2 GB Memory

320 GB HDD

DVD- Super Multi DL drive

Acer Nplify 802.11/b/g/n

Bluetooth 2.1+EDR

Multi-in-1 card reader

6-cell Li-i-on battery

Please tell me if you go with this configuration Mastercam X5

Primarily it has to do with your graphics support, Mcam as well as other cad/cam programs require stand alone graphics cards.

If your computer is running an integrated chipset for graphics support Mcam is not going to "get along" with it.

Yes, your solution is going to be a new PC. Heck, you can put together a home-built PC using used parts off craigslist for less than $300 that will blow that Acer away. You're not going to find many laptops that will have a dedicated GPU (graphics card). Build yourself a cheap desktop and throw as much money as you can at the graphics card. Buy a professional card like a Quadro. Not a gaming card.
