O/T Thread form differances

We got stumped this morning. We have made threadmills with a BSPP thread form, but now we had a request for a BSPT thread form. Is anyone familiar with this? What is the differance between the two? Is a BSPT a tapered British Standard? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

It looks like a thread form following JIS standards for high pressure hose fittings. for a Goole Search using "bspp thread"

BSPP is British standard Pipe Parallel.

BSPT is British Standard Pipe Taper.

British and Metric are mutually exclusive! aren't they? especially when it comes to threading. hahaahahaha

Here is one to thow you of ( or me anyway ) Keith, before you edited your original post I used that linke to go to goggle were you were, this was at the top of the page web page If you go thru there site they specify straight threads as a BSPT.

 

Now Rob puts up the link, and BSPT looks to have a 55 deg? Good looking out guys, it awesome, I am however still confused

Hey Rob, we are in the same boat my friend. The BSPT is deffinatly a taper, this I have found out. I like info, so the mor the better! Better to keep looking and find out way more than you need than not enough at all!
