Save Tool Geometry -revisited.

Has anyone figured this out yet. i'm so stumped! When I save tool geometry **Not toolpath*** I get a jillion tiny lines where there should only be one big one and instead of arcs I get more tiny lines.

 

Whats the fix?

can you use simplify curves? or the join function to get them back together?

You mean when you backplot and click the save tool geometry button? I get a wire frame of the tool. Are you using custom tool geometry?

Yes, exactly. Can you please tell me about the wireframe that you get? Is it hundreds or thousands of lines? Mine is.

Yes, join works. I went from 468lines to 105 lines. The problem now however is that when I save tool geometry with a ball nose or radius, I dont get any arcs...its all lines that very roughly approximate the arc. It didn't used to be this way with mcam.

 

Is there a fix besides reinstalling V8?
