CHANGE IMPORTED SOLID

Hey All,

I'm new to mastercam. I have a series of parts that I have to machine quite often. All the parts are almost identical. There may only be a small change in a few dimension. I draw them in Autodesk Inventor and import them into mastercam. The tools and operations are the same for every part. Is there anyway I can keep the tools and operations but change the part without having to redo the whole thing?

Thanks

I tried Change Recognition. It keeps the same toolpath and doesn't change along with the change in geometry of the part.

I also tried exporting my operations. The problem is that when I import them into the new part, it doesn't have any geometry at all. I also tried to option to save geometry when I exported and imported but it just keeps the same toolpath as the original part.

I just want to be able to basically have a template with all my operations and when I bring the new part in, it recognizes and changes the toolpath to the new slight change in part.

Change recognition IS what you want.

Call your reseller if you're not sure how it works, it's typically a "little" more step by step involved to go into here without writing a 3 page narrative on how exactly everything in there works.

If I remember correctly, there is a sample file that you can use

Mastercam Help file has a good "how to" on using this function
