Importing Solids from Inventor

I have a problem that's probably easily solved by anyone with any knowledge of how to use Mastercam. I have a part that I get from a customer. It is imported into Autodesk Inventor and I then place the part into a solid block in Inventor. The purpose is that I want to build a nest for this part. Inventor allows me to place it exactly how I want it in the nest. Now I need to take the block and cut out the shape of the part so that it sits in the block. I am not sure how to go about this. Do I bring in the part to Mastercam and try to imprint the surface of the part into my block? Or is that done in Inventor and only bring in the surfaces to Mastercam? Is there a tutorial of some sort that can help me understand how to accomplish this?

Thanks

It can be done in whichever software you're more comfortable in, and then you can bring the resulting Inventor file (as solids or surfaces) into Mastercam.
