Blanked Entities

Recommended Posts

Ok... Heres the story. Over the years as CAD has grown we all know that the files have gotten more complicated thus much bigger. The file I'm working with right now is the core half of a mold. I haven't gotten to the cavity yet. Anyhow to get to the point, is there anyway that I can delete blanked entities that are associated without losing the parent geometry? This would definitely make for a much smaller file. Any help appreciated.

Here is one way. Put all the visible geometry on a different level. Go Screen,Blank, unBlank, all Entities. Turn on all levels and go Analyze, Surface, Base Surfaces, select all surfaces. This will identify all parent surfaces that have a child surface and will blank them for you.

Then turn off your original visible surfaces and whatever is left is safe to delete.

have the data on the screen that you wish to keep and do a File Savesome. Window the features and save under a new name ( in case you need to go back) and open it. Only the related "blanked" data will follow to the new file and the garbage is gone.
