Communications set up

I am trying to set up my communications in MX 7. I set it all up in settings/ Communications

but when I post code and send a file, I get ( you need to set machine first)

 

I have been using NC Fadal. but decided to drop that with the new X7

What am I missing here ?

50 views and know answers. Is this something you can get in trouble for asking ?

Any one out there with a Fadal machine.

Sounds like you need to set the TA,1 command on the comm side.

its not the machine. I can send files using NC Fadal.

 

in Mastercam x7 I set the machine communications from ( settings / configuration / communication.

Its set to ...

Hand Shack - Software / Baud rate - 9600 / echo terminal emulation / format - ASCll / Port # - com 3

Parity - Even / Data bits - 7 / stop bits - 1

( is that set right ? )

 

when I post code it goes to ( Code Export)

It says ( I must first save your machine configuration )

I need -- File Name ( ACSll ???? / Machine name / control name -----

what should I put for that ?

try using the cimco editor

honestly way simpler than the mastercam editors and the comms just work
