X7 Verify crashing

Hello all!

 

Just installed X7 and when I try to verify I get an error. Did a search and i didn't see my error in any of the other threads.

 

Any ideas?

Yes I did

close X7

open your personal my mcamx7 folder

there are 4 *.ini files in the root with names like

 

mwMachSim.ini

and

mwMachSim_UBVS.ini

 

delete them and restart X7

it will generate new default files and that should get you going.

I saw you post that in another thread and tried it with no success. I will try again just in case...

your next option is to drag your config file out of my mcam7 and let X7 generate a fresh default config file

Just did that and now X7 will not even launch without crashing.....

I did not try dragging the config file out yet.

 

Just deleted the .ini files and mcam will not even launch now

run regedit

go to

HKEY_CURRENT_USER

Software

CNC Software Inc

Mastercam X7

and check out the folder named GUI

if it has more that 30 or 40 items in it, delete the folder and restart X7

if that doesn't work

you'll need to uninstall

delete

your mcam7 folder

the shared my mcam7

 

run egedit

delete

the entire Mastercam 7 folder mentioned above

as well as

the Mastercam X7 folder in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE

 

then reinstall and do not run migration

 

Its OK to use Update Folders for tool operations libraries

and copy your tool bar and RMB files,

but build your config file by hand

Just tried a repair and still will not launch. There were 4 .ini files and now there are only 3

Ok after doing the regedit mcam launches!...ty

 

Verify still does not work.

 

I am going to try the dragging the config file out now.

So is my only fix here to do the uninstall and not do the migration?

 

Sounds like this should be a warning to all NOT to do the migration!

Re-installed this morning and everything is good so far.

 

Since I will not be using the migration tool this time. What files should I use the update folder for and what should I stay away from?

I use the Update Folder for Tool and Operations libraries and Machine/Control Defs

I update my posts one at a time using the update utility and build my Config file by hand

I've never had any trouble copy/pasting tool bar and right mouse button files
