Opening Multi axis file- CRASH

I am trying to open a part file in MCX6 MU3 that has six multi axis multi surface toolpaths in it. I was working on it yesterday afternnon and exited out of mastercam last night. The post and machine def are generic fanuc 4X. The toolpath output is only 4 axis output. When I try to open the file I get a incompatible machine error, I click okay and then MC crashes. Is there any way around this to save my A$$?

move your generic fanuc 4X machine and control def

make a copy of the default mill and control def and rename them to the same name as the generic 4C fanuc machine

then open your file

I have a better idea

Open an empty file

Load your generic 4X machine

open the machine definition and add a

"Four Outlet Right angle Aggregate" on the end on the spindle.

Save the machine def and try to open your trouble file.

This will have no effect on posted gcode, but will trick

the machine def into thinking it's a 5 axis machine

 

just drag the agg head from the left screen and drop it on the end of your spindle
