How to define Max & Min feed rate in Highfeed machine?

Hi guys,

I know highfeed function in mastercam is not new. But as a beginner for mastercam I still don't know how to master it!

After went through all the information and document I can find from the internet, I still have a question "How to define Max & Min feed rate in highfeed?" Should it considers more about the machine ability or the tool ability? Or there is a table or what could be reference? I saw another post said "Look at Chris Rizzo's thread and chart for Highfeed machining". Could any one give me some help?

BTW, from an old newsletter there is a link "www.mastercam.com/highfeed" for more detail info. But the page is not there anymore. Does anyone keep the "detailed V9 Highfeed Machining overview PowerPoint file" or other document can share to me?

Thanks

Hans

Hi,

I'm just thinking highfeed can accomplish dynamic feed rate to reduce the machining time and maintain the quality. I thought highfeed can apply on all 2D & 3D toolpaths is it? If I'm correct, why don't we reduce the time as much as possible?

Further, I'm very interested in the theory of the dynamic feed rate generation and the limit setting. Is the dynamic feed rate already apply on other toolpath? Are they as effective as highfeed?
