Port Expert

Anyone has any issues with initial/final passes of this toolpath?

Something is off, as it seems to be overcutting on the first sweep in spiral mode...

Mark can you elaborate on the issue? We use port expert everyday for our manifolds, never seen it do this unless we intend to by offsetting the cut.

Hi Eric, I'm working on sending it in to qc. Got to strip down the file first (itar crap)...

It appears that on this particular part the first "sweep" in spiral cut overcuts slightly. I'm talking .001" or so. With a .984 dia lollipop it shows pretty bad on a part. I'm still trying to work on it, but thought I'd throw it in here in case someone else figured it out already.

Also be careful with the extended "tapered" exit in port expert...but they're working on it already

Thanks for the update, I hope they help you out. Glad to hear they are working on port expert, I have offered many suggestions to better this tool path as we use it daily. Not sure if they don't have enough users of it or did not want to take the time, but it could be greatly improved upon at least for the stuff we do.

They incorporated some of mine in MU1. Zigzag is in, yeah!!! Then again, someone else might have asked for it as well. I'd love to have 4 axis output too, as some things can be accessed easily on 4 axis machines freeing up the 5 axis equipment
