Reference Points - Approach does nothing, retract is fine

I'm having an issue programming with X7, I'm doing some 5-axis work and I'm trying to set reference points so I don't swipe the part.

My retract works as expected, it goes to a safe location for the tool to swing to position.

However, my approach is totally ignored. It shows nothing in backplot or verify or the posted code. Basically the tool starts from my clearance plane, which means taking out the steel casting I'm cutting as the B axis swings around.

Any ideas on how I can get a safe start position out of this?

Also, home position does nothing.

ya its super annoying!

Sometimes it happens when i switch my T/C planes, such as copy a toolpath and using it on another face.

Another annoying thing is that the reference point is a world co-ord point, so when you switch you your t/c plane, the reference point is the same in world space but not the same point relative to your T/C plane. a Z+6 ref point when copied and then used on a face 180 out, will be z-6!!!!!

fun stuff!

This issue with ref points needs to be addressed.  It is very obnoxious.  They are super handy, but can absolutely give you some headaches from time to time.  Frustrating to say the least. Thanks for the suggestion to close and reopen the file.  This will alleviate my blood pressure issues for today.
