tunning a Lathe to a Chuck

We put a 12inch chuck on our J-300. Now when we lock up the c-axis to machine a flat. The machine goes into a seizures. I guess we need MItz to come out and tune the machine to the chuck. Any one else have anything like this??? It's a first for me!!!

I can't remember the parameter off the top of my head, but if you give Applications at Mazak a call they should be able to help you out. 

Careful, the params involved can affect your accuracy.

Fixed that for ya.

Mazak did get it to stop switching like AP. But they did loosing up the tolerance on the angle.

Soooo, what is the issue you'd like to "tune"?

I'm told it is not a accurate in the angle is not 0.0001° but 0.001°.

on a 12" radius that's about .0002 positional error.... (.001°)

how are you measuring it? Just curious...

Does it repeat or is it all over the place?

It is all over the place, but still in tolerance. We put the 10 inch back on.
