Reinshaw probe for has

Jeff,   I am not sure if the Renishaw will probe a segment of a bore.  In our case we have to probe a full diameter.  There might be a way.  Maybe someone else can chime in.

Here is the program we use to probe a bore.  This program is set to measure a bore Ø1.2002.  You can adjust the D1.2002 to whatever bore size you are probing.  On our machine it stores the measurement in a Variable.  I think it is #185.  You will have to check the Renishaw programming manual to see if that is not it.  Normally you can scroll down through the variables and find it.

If  you pm me with your email I can send you a PDF copy of the Probe programming manual.

Actually it's not a bore in z axis. It's a radius in x direction. About .086 deep and 1.500 wide on the y axis. There is an equation

(R = 4b sq + c squared divided by 8b) where b = depth of radius and c = width of radius. The radius is 3.442 but we would like to check after machining. The machining is done in the x axis with a 2 1/2 d tool path from MC8.

What sort of accuracy are you wanting to get?  It sounds like you will need to use the vector probing cycles and I'm not sure the Haas probes will do that very well if you are looking for the utmost accuracy.  With the vector cycles you will most likely need to do the math yourself to calculate the radius.
