Mastercam HASP not found when trying to open CIMCO

We have a net hasp and our reseller was saying for us to copy and paste the nethasp.ini file into the CIMCO folder in order to get access to CIMCO from other newly established machines that we want to use.

Our 3 main mastercam computers run CIMCO just fine - i'm under the impression its the HASP key that somehow activates it...

But that doesn't explain how removing the HASP key and remaining on the NETHASP ... CIMCO still works fine.     But on the 2 new machines ... when I use the HASP USB key CIMCO launches, yet I remove it CIMCO does not launch - even when nethasp is activated....

Our reseller wasnt much help except to redirect us to mastercam tech support.

I was hoping the local wildlife here would help if possible ;-)

Did you try copying the nethasp.ini file to the Cimco directory?  That usually resolves the problem.  Make sure the nethasp.ini is configured to point to the server hosting the network license.

NH_SERVER_ADDR = 192.168.1.254 ; IP addresses of all the NetHASP
; License Managers you want to search.
					; Unlimited addresses are possible.
					;
					; Possible address format examples:
					; IP address: 192.114.176.65
					; Local Hostname: ftp.aladdin.co.il

We did try that, but we did not set the server in the .ini file.

Cimco says it could be a permissions thing since we are using a "shared" computer where multiple users/logins are accessing it.

Could that be the primary issue?  If yes, how can we fix it if any?

Cimco is not that expensive. Why not just buy the pro version? It is much better.

Guitar,

Whats funny as most Mastercam customers don't know that they get a option for a OEM upgrade discount to the Pro for every seat of MC they have.

That's not funny. That's sad. Cimco is one of the most useful tools on the planet. Yeah, we got a great discount with our MC subscription.

BTW...I made some really nice macro templates for Fanuc and Brother machines if anyone wants them. They have alot of helpful diagrams and output basic code lines for beginner programmers, or for simple fixturing without having to boot up MC..
