C-Axis "turning" with side of endmill?

If you are going to expect the code right out of the Mastercam post, you are going to have to get some custom post work done.

"assuming" that is nothing you know how to do, it's not a simple task, you will want to get with your reseller and let them know what you need.

They may suggest instead of post work, just purchasing a custom post processor.

MPmaster available through IHS is not a 5 axis post, 4 axis only

I figured as much... well hopefully someone that uses CAMPLETE can help me. Thanks again MPMASTER was modified for 5-axis by our reseller.

I took a look at your blog posting and learned some new tech. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!

Justchips, do you have Camplete for the Cublex? If so, Camplete has a function that will turn any 2d milling op into a C-axis milling with X or Y fixed in space, so it runs like a C-axis contour- polar milling...

Steve

I'm going to have to spend some time with camplete. This is a 40 pallet cublex 5 axis hsk with 2000 rpm turn capabilities with a tailstock. is this polar milling function in THE CAM WIZARD? I disn't take the key home this weekend so hopefully Monday you can help me out more with this?

hey i appreciate it BUT that wasn't what i meant...Imagine a lathe with a piece of roundstock in the chuck. now you come in with a axial live tool hit the stock in X than the C turns the stock dia smaller. The tool is parallel to the C axis. I want to do the same thing but in a mill. Thank you again for putting a file up... Hopefully this is possible because it could possibly be used to produce very concentric diameters on second ops!
