Thermwood posts from CNC Automation

I am working for CNC Automation for the last 4 years as a post writer. Prior to this, I was a Mastercam user since V3.

The first post I wrote was for V8.0, V8.1.1, for our 5 Axis Thermwood machine.

The MP.DLL files are always changing from previous versions and many times, it makes issues with our post. I agree.

For this reason, we have to rename the MP that was used for the post version and use MPBIN.

It is important, for us, to have your input as well as changes and or suggestions that you may have, as the client, that will make the post even better.

When you have a problem with our post, either:

1- Call your Mastercam rep.

2- Give us a call or e-mail

CNC Automation team will support your posts issues, as long as they are reported to us !

Pierre, great topic.

5ax post writing is an art. Its not that bad the first time you write the post, but it can sometimes be hard to test every toolpath on each release.

The first maint deliverable is coming out soon and I'm trying to see what if anything has changed in mp or nci.

Whe it comes out it would be great to get everyone's feedback on anything you find new whether its a new feature or change.

Thanks

Jimmy

Jimmy

I found from V9.1 SP1 that the mpparam.dll file was wrong and request a newer file from CNC Software and got the problem fixed later on ( few minutes).

I then load SP2 and what I found was some of the ops numbers were changed. So I got to rework some operations into the post itself accordingly.

Being patient and keep working on some features we use into our 5 Axis posts, and made it work great.

Thanks for your reply.
