  1. Sorry for my explanation into previous post. The software must be able to achived the above consideration, because of surfaces clearance with the tool. My mistake sorry.
  2. One trick to take into consideration. If you set the Z axis part zero on the Top of your part, then it's became obvious, all rapid moves when Z axis is negative, could be control by your post at fast feed rate of the machine, with G01 moves (straight lines), all moves over Z axis (positive) can be output as G00 Rapid. This is a safe methode to skip the dog legs moves.
  3. Kizzy A) Made a copy of your .PST post file Edit the .pst file Into the file header, there's also a lot of setting with notes, what it does. C) As you stated, you get 2 identical posts, maybe some of the switches are differents from one to the other. Please take a look at. Good Luck
  4. All you have to do is save your file at least once before post process. Your post was supplies with notes attached to it. Please read true these notes and this should work. There is also a post processor setting to know the date and time from last save, if the time is more than the one preset into the post, this warnig message will be show again.
  5. Screen config nc settings Misc values set misc values on first operation of each type This will hold the pervious misc value from previous operation (Same Type ?)
  6. On some machines like HAAS do have a drilling cycle to shift the boring bar in a particular way. Using such cycle code with a boring bar, must always refer to the proper side or axis shifted. This cycle is doing the boring, shift the tool, go back to exit the hole. This cycle have some variable to shift the proper axis and the amount of shift value prior to retract.
  7. Yes, Easy Link is free. Also, work with Thermwoods Rolling Nest programs. Also work with Thermwoods e-Cabinets software. On demand Thrue shape nesting, at the machine. Great for flat work like cabinets parts.
  8. My suggestion here is : Are you able to defined the points positions with a line attached to it as the tool vector direction ? Then use Drill 5ax to perform the holes.
  9. Creating an ellipse with the rectangle option will give you an ellipse with lines only. Myself, I never use this type of ellipse construction. Always use the ellipse creation. Create Next menu Ellipse Do not forget to : Modify Break Spl2arcs This will give you all tangent arcs.
  10. Jimmy I found from V9.1 SP1 that the mpparam.dll file was wrong and request a newer file from CNC Software and got the problem fixed later on ( few minutes). I then load SP2 and what I found was some of the ops numbers were changed. So I got to rework some operations into the post itself accordingly. Being patient and keep working on some features we use into our 5 Axis posts, and made it work great. Thanks for your reply.
  11. Thermwood posts from CNC Automation I am working for CNC Automation for the last 4 years as a post writer. Prior to this, I was a Mastercam user since V3. The first post I wrote was for V8.0, V8.1.1, for our 5 Axis Thermwood machine. The MP.DLL files are always changing from previous versions and many times, it makes issues with our post. I agree. For this reason, we have to rename the MP that was used for the post version and use MPBIN. It is important, for us, to have your input as well as changes and or suggestions that you may have, as the client, that will make the post even better. When you have a problem with our post, either: 1- Call your Mastercam rep. 2- Give us a call or e-mail CNC Automation team will support your posts issues, as long as they are reported to us ! 12. gstephens: "The Thermwood controls are notorious for being different between different machine serial numbers." - Actually it is more a question of production date and control model. Earlier machines used an inverted right-hand rule or a left hand rule for axis designations. Since the 9100 (or at least the 91000 Supercontrol) the default axis designations have been standardized to right-hand rule. Peter E: "I, J, and K are incremental arc vectors specifying the center of the arc from the start of the arc (as you all know). Therefore, inputting I0 is the same as not putting an I value at all." - The Thermwood control utilizes the I/J, I/K, or J/K arc center combinations to determine the intended plane. G17, G18 and G19 are not needed using this format. AV8TOR: "MasterCam has a post for the Model 67 5-axis machine (I know I helped them write it). I do not know if that will work for the Model 53 or not. Give them a call or email me if you want to try it." - Since a 5 axis post usually works with 5 axis tool length compensation and not with 3axis daylight values, and that C and A/B axis references may cause problems, it would probably be better to go with a 3 axis post. (PS Your email is not listed in your profile.) Slick- With regards to your Model 53: 1. Approx. age of the machine? 2. What model of Thermwood control? 3. What control software version? 4. Toolchanger (manual quick change, bar-style, typewriter or carosel), turret head or fixed tooling? 5. Equipped with conventional or universal vacuum, roller-holddown, auto load/unload? Also: What Mastercam product (Mill or Router) and version are you currently running with? (I assume Level 3/Pro since you work with 5 axis.) Get back to me and we may be able to help you out with a post. Pierre Cote CNC Automation
