Coolant filters on turning centers ??

What brand and type of coolant filtering system are most running on their turning centers and what kind of life are you getting out of them ??

 

We are currently running a water filter that is from American Plumbing and they are lasting maybe a month before the are imploded and falling apart . Our coolant is from Oemeta and I find it very hard or rubber products and other plastic related parts .

 

Our pump pressure is between 100psi and roughly 130psi depending on the machine .

Perhaps you should look into a stainless steel filter element. Just clean it and put it back in.

can you recommend a brand ? I have looked but had little luck , we do have a tech coming in the new year I will ask him as well .

Thank you I will forward that to purchasing and see if they can source something similar locally , seeing we are based in Canada we cannot purchase thru McMaster Carr due to tariffs and such .

In that last few months we switched all the machines over to this style filter , so far so good , they last a lot longer , don't  implode like the paper one did .

 

My next question is how does one properly clean these to get the most life out of them ??

Not sure if they are meant to be cleaned and reused. 

If they last 6 months I'd just replace.

I have seen reverse high pressure cleaning units custom made to do this. Problem is what do you then do with the waste water? Best to just toss them then having to deal with the waste water. You are already getting better than you were which means improvement, but sometimes you have to weigh other cost with going too far getting every penny's worth out of something.
