Renishaw Lathe Tool Setter Macro

Does the RENAUTOTOOLSET macro require setting up?  It came with my lathe and doesn't seem to work correctly (keeps wanting to travel in the wrong direction).

The first few lines of code are as follows:

O9012(RENAUTOTOOLSET    )

(40120513.0E)

#10=522(EDITFIRSTMACROSTORE)

#17=2(EDIT2-DIA/1-RAD)

Does #10 and #17 need to be changed to match certain aspects of the lathe?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

All tool setters have parameters that tell the macro where the exact location of the touch setter is in relation to either home or some other fixed place on the machine. Need to look at the supplied documentation and see what needs to be set or changed to make sure it knows where it is at. Also are you using the correct cycles. There are normally 4 cycles, but can be up up 32 cycles depending on the machine. OD X and Z, ID X and Z Back OD X and Z and Back ID X and Z are the 4 normal cycles on a 2 Axis. Wen you get to 9 axis with a lower turret or a Triple or Quad turret then you start getting into crazy land on tool setting possibilities.

Hi Brian,

Do you happen to have the lathe tool setter programming manual? From my experience with NC4, which is the mill tool setter, they explain everything in the programming manual. If you have the manual, is it possible that you share that with me?

Steph

I hope after 13 months he got it sorted. Thanking for coming along and seeing if you can help it is appreciated.
