Can MasterCam output a DXF file with a continuous POLYLINE for a shape? eg a rectangle starting at the lower left corner & going clockwise & ending at the start point

I will out put a spline and that is not really a polyline in the same idea of what autocad calls a polyline. If it is straight shapes they should be output as lines even though they are connected in another. I am sorry I can give you more information on this.

Nope, sorry. We'll output a rectangle as 4 separate lines

Most programs that have DXF also have IGES.

You could do the same thing with IGES, by joining the 4 sides of a rectangle into a solid Spline. But I cannot see any reason for doing this. Except of course swaping files back and forth between outdated copies of both Acad and Mastercam.....

 

Man, DXF......I havent used that format since I had a 286 computer.
